Mobile Health Insurance
Unlike with other states, there isn't a policy that caters to citizens living with chronic illnesses. A high-risk pool insurance plan would help those having problems with attaining health insurance policies. What is available is the ALL Kids Program, which is a health plan that aims to help insure children in the state. Other similar plans are the SOBRA Medicaid program, Public Education Employees Health Insurance Plan and the State Employees' Children's Health Insurance Plan. Income requirements are required to be met to qualify for these plans. A private foundation in Alabama offers an alternative for uninsured children, the Alabama Child Caring Foundation. This program offers outpatient services for the children who are eligible.

Are you living with pre-existing health conditions? Be aware of fraudulent health insurance companies who promise coverage for your conditions at unbelievably low prices. A lot of the time, the coverage isn't given. When applying for a plan with your chronic illness, make sure to check if their policies are under the ERISA, Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
Otherwise, if you would like to try getting a health plan with an individual health insurance provider, consider getting an HDHP, High Deductible Health Plan. This is a plan that requires high annual deductibles to be paid, but you will be left with low premium rates for your coverage. Then to go along with this policy, you can sign up for an HSA, Health Savings Account. This is a tax-deferred account that allows you to withdraw and deposit funds for any of your medical expenses, including those that other policies wouldn't usually cover (i.e. chiropractic, dental and vision).
